New Lubbesthorpe resident cycles into the new year with increased fitness and a reduced carbon footprint
Julia Hedley, a resident of New Lubbesthorpe and member of LocalGO, the communities sustainable travel discount scheme, ditched getting stuck in traffic for an e-bike commute and is since enjoying increased fitness and a reduced carbon footprint.
The Drummond Estate in partnership with Rutland Cycling have funded an 8-week e-bike loan scheme for New Lubbesthorpe residents to try out a new way of commuting and travelling sustainably.
Commenting on her new commute, Julia said ‘’It's fantastic, it is such a great way to get around whilst discovering the local area. Commuting to work is a great way to reduce your carbon footprint and we all need to be looking at ways to do that.’’
Julia added, ‘’I am really enjoying the e-bike, it makes the commute much easier than a regular bike and versus the car I am no longer stuck in slow moving traffic.’’
